In 2012 she and a team of other students won first place in the VEX Robotics World Championship held in Anaheim, California. The team beat out 250 other teams from around the world, and were offered to be part of the Mars 2020 protect in NASA.

Esmeralda would rather get married than to go work for NASA, something Karie Macias de Duarte

head of Veracruz Integrated Family Services (DIF) is not in favor of.

This is what the head of DIF and Veracruz's Governor's wife had to say:

"Those of us who work day in and day out to better the work force from a gender perspective know how hard it is for women to be in decision making roles, science and technology roles, and actively participating in the work force" mentioned Macias.

What do you think of the young Mexican woman's decision?
