On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to "Mariscos Tito's" located at Blvd. de las Bellas Artes 19687, Nueva Tijuana. On this occasion he tried two tacos: a salmon taco with shrimp priced at $5.58 dollars ($95 pesos) and a zarandeado fish taco priced at $5.17 dollars ($88 pesos).

Salmon Taco with Shrimp

This taco has salmon, shrimp, avocado, thousand island style dressing, mushrooms, chiltepín salsa, cheese, and it is served on two corn tortillas. Before he tried, Chef Danny highlighted two things: that the tortillas were browned and that the taco was quite heavy.

Though at first, he thought the dressing was chipotle, Chef Danny discovered that it was actually a thousand island dressing with sweet touches, which he didn't really like. He said that the salmon was somewhat overcooked as it felt dry. Though the cheese and the browned tortillas with butter were his favorite ingredients in this taco, Chef Danny said that the dressing harmed it as it made it lose the salmon flavor. This is why this taco gets a rating of 5.8.

Price: $5.58 dollars ($95 pesos)

Zarandeado Fish Taco

This taco has zarandeado fish, cabbage, pico de gallo, purple onion, avocado dressing, seasoned cream, chipotle dressing, and it is served on two corn tortillas. Chef Danny was surprised by the taco's great size which, due to the amount of ingredients it had, couldn't even be folded.

When he tried it, Chef Danny claimed that he could detect the adobo of the zarandeado fish and it wasn't very invasive, as the fish flavor still remained. The vegetables and the dressings used complemented the protein quite well, which is why this taco gets a rating of 8.0.
