Tijuana is preparing to bring the World Cup atmosphere to the heart of the city, with the launch of the Baja Fut Fest, a month-long fan festival that will transform Avenida Revolución during the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, announced the event this week, saying the festival will offer free public access for families and soccer fans looking to watch matches, gather outdoors and take part in World Cup celebrations without leaving the city.

The event is scheduled to run from June 11 through July 19 and will feature giant outdoor screens broadcasting more than 35 World Cup matches live from the tournament.

Avenida Revolución to become World Cup viewing hub
Much of the activity will center around Avenida Revolución, where officials plan to create pedestrian-friendly fan zones filled with large viewing screens, food vendors and gathering spaces for visitors.

Tijuana Mayor, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, added that one of the main screens will be installed near the city’s iconic Arco Monumental, while additional event areas will stretch between Sixth and Seventh streets.
Access to certain sections of the avenue will be controlled during major match days as part of a broader security and crowd-management plan.

Burgueño also said transportation and mobility support will be expanded to help fans travel to the event from different areas across Tijuana.
World Cup celebrations to include community projects
Beyond the public watch parties, Baja California officials say the World Cup festivities will also be tied to community improvement projects across the state through an initiative known as Mundial Social.

Plans include the rehabilitation of more than 21 soccer fields, the opening of 27 additional community pitches, tournaments, and World Cup-themed murals in public spaces.
Officials are also reviewing designated areas along Avenida Revolución where alcohol consumption may be allowed during the tournament festivities.
