El portal de cine Fandango hizo una encuesta en la que le preguntaron a los espectadores cuál es la película que más quieren ver el próximo año, quedando en primer lugar Star Wars: Episode VIII y por detrás Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Cabe mencionar que estos dos títulos están por encima de otros grandes como La Bella y la Bestia, quien obtuvo el récord por la mayor cantidad de visitas a su primer trailer en las primeras 24 horas, Wonder Woman e incluso Justice League, la versión de los Avengers de Warner Bros.

Ante dicha noticia, el director de Guardians 2, James Gunn se mostró bastante contento con el resulto, quien publicó en su cuenta de Facebook que estaba feliz haber quedado en haber sido derrotados por Star Wars.
