The accident occurred during routine training, said Lt. Colleen McFadden, public affairs officer for the 1st Marine Division. McFadden said she could not yet comment on details of the accident or the conditions of those injured.
An investigation is ongoing. McFadden said she expected to be able to release more information shortly. The Marine who was killed was assigned to the 1st Marine Division.
