11.- Joaquín Sabina cancels concert after being admitted to hospistal:

The Spanish singer-songwriter abandoned the first of two presentations int Tijuana, after he began to feel severe muscular pains, although not a heart attack as first thought. Those who bought tickets for their first concert weren't refunded or given tickets for the second concert.

12.- Morrisey claims he was "kidnapped" in Tijuana:

Morrisey, former leader of the British band "The Smiths", claimed through his recently released memoir, that he was kidnapped in Tijuana during his presentation in 2007. The concert's organizers denied the singer's version of events and simply believed, along with everyone else who knows the singer's penchant for drama, that it was just a tactic for increasing sales of his book.

13.- Zombie Walk vs Tax reform protest:

The annual "Zombie Walk" in Tijuana, which is put together by the local chapter of the worldwide movement, sparked a heated debate on social media, because of the amount of people it brought together for this peculiar event (almost 8,000) compared to amount that took part in the protest march against the then-impending tax reform in the country and its increases to the Vale Added Tax in the border regions, believed by some to be a representations of the country's citizen's misplaced priorities.

Some media outlets broadcast erroneous information about the dollar amounts in good allowed back into Mexico by customs, stating that border residents could only now import tariff-free goods worth below $75, instead of the usual $150. The confusion was cleared up by SanDiegoRed.com.

Tuition rose across all faculties in the UABC (Autonomous University of Baja California) by 5%, prompting protest and complaints against the institution from students and some faculty members who argued the hike was too much for students under economic stress.

16.- Head of Tijuana city government's sports department murdered:

Newly named as the head of the Tijuana Sports Office for the city, he was murdered this past December 17th, inside his car near the La Mesa district.
