Little Italy will be the home of new Restaurant by Javier Plascencia

Details of planned culinary Innovation unveiled

SAN DIEGO. - Baja California’s own world-renown chef, Javier Plascencia, will open a new restaurant in San Diego’s Little Italy quarter, in the new Ariel Suites building.

The San Diego Eater has detailed that the new restaurant will be ready during the first quarter of 2015, and will consist of Mexican food with a modern twist, similar to other endeavors that have spread Javier Plascencia’s reputation around the world.

The new restaurant will be an addition to his portfolio of other restaurants which include Mision 19 in Tijuana, and Finca Altozano in Ensenada’s Valle de Guadalupe, as well as the El Erizo Baja Fish House and Market in Tijuana and Romesco in Bonita, California. It is anticipated that this new restaurant will share similarities with his other restaurants and will consist of two floors for diners- an informal and formal area- a bar, and outdoor seating to enjoy the surroundings.

Once again, Plascencia will collaborate with Luis Pena, who is currently in charge of operations of Romesco. This new restaurant, still unnamed, will be a welcome addition for San Diegans who want to enjoy Mexican food and Baja-Med cuisine without having to cross the border.

Plascencia will of course continue to base his restaurant’s offerings on the Baja region’s rich ingredients, such as wine, as well as other offerings from throughout Mexico.
