For the third time, Travel+Leisure México will present the Gourmet Awards, where the best in Mexico's cuisine is recognized and awarded. Baja California is, of course, on the list of nominees.
In the category of "Best Concept" is a favorite in the Valle de Guadalupe, Finca Altozano by Chef Javier Plascencia. Finca Altozano is known for its locally-sourced menu, based off of ingredients available in local ranches, farms, and orchards, as well as a unique dining experience. You must try the famous wood-baked lamb, prepared in their camp-style oven.

Another favorite on the list in that same category is Verde y Crema, one of our readers' favorites. Chef Jair Téllez has managed to transform a space in the city that will remove you from its urban surroundings and offer a completely unique dining experience. The endemic food and fresh ingredients make Verde y Crema an exquisite option. They also have one of the best craft beer selection around. Click for directions.
