Rosarito celebrated the best of Baja California’s craft beer industry on Saturday as the eighth annual Rosarito Beer Fest returned to Las Rocas Resort & Spa, featuring award-winning breweries, local cuisine and a full day of entertainment.
Festival organizers expected about 2,500 visitors to attend the event, where dozens of breweries from across the state served a wide variety of beers paired with regional food offerings.
A showcase for Baja California’s craft breweries
According to festival director Luis Reyes, this year’s event featured more participating breweries than previous editions, reinforcing its mission of supporting Baja California’s growing craft beer industry.
In addition to beer tastings, attendees enjoyed performances by more than 20 artists across two music stages. Organizers also expanded visitor amenities with shuttle transportation from the parking area, as well as access to resort facilities including the pool and jacuzzi.
Rosarito continues promoting tourism through events
Saúl Álvarez, director of the Rosarito Tourism and Convention Committee (COTUCO), said Baja California has earned a reputation as one of Mexico’s premier destinations for craft beer, with breweries from Mexicali, Tijuana and Rosarito showcasing a variety of styles ranging from lighter lagers to more robust brews.
He added that events like Rosarito Beer Fest are part of the city’s strategy to keep its tourism calendar active throughout the year, generating economic activity for both the municipality and the state.
Álvarez also highlighted several upcoming summer events, including Baja Beach Fest, scheduled for Aug. 7-9, along with seafood festivals, cultural celebrations, sporting events and other attractions expected to draw visitors throughout the season.
