The general director of CESPT, Mónica Vega Aguirre, confirmed the replacement and relocation of 170 meters of pipeline as part of ongoing upgrades to the sanitary network along Paseo Costero in Playas de Tijuana.
The intervention involved the removal of deteriorated piping and the installation of a new line in a more accessible location, addressing previous logistical challenges that had hindered the entry of personnel and specialized equipment for routine inspection and maintenance tasks.

As part of the project, three new manholes were constructed to facilitate cleaning, inspection, and the extraction of debris that could obstruct wastewater flow.
Vega Aguirre noted that pavement restoration is now underway along the avenue where the new pipeline was installed, ensuring the completion of all works corresponding to this segment.

“We are not merely replacing the pipeline. We are relocating it to improve accessibility for our crews and streamline future maintenance. This approach leaves us with far better operating conditions in this section of the sanitary network,” she stated.
The current project is part of a broader rehabilitation initiative covering 13 walkways along Paseo Costero, where authorities have also replaced pipelines, manholes, and household sanitary connections.
These efforts are contributing to significant improvements in the operation and maintenance of multiple sections of the sanitary network throughout the coastal corridor.
