Led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, the “Tijuana: Clean City” program is making steady progress through ongoing work in the La Presa Este, La Presa Abelardo Rodríguez, and Cerro Colorado districts. With a focus on urban improvement, the efforts have already benefited 7,500 residents.
First, crews carried out grading on 1,200 square meters of Sonora Street in the Rancho Florido Viejo neighborhood, located in the La Presa Este District. The work has significantly improved traffic flow and accessibility in the area, benefiting around 4,000 people.

“Residents with a request can come to their district office, our doors are always open,” said María Guadalupe Rubio Cucué, District Coordinator. “Mayor Ismael Burgueño’s administration offers many programs for the public, including ‘Tijuana Illuminated,’ ‘Tijuana Safe,’ and ‘Tijuana: Clean City.'”
A second operation took place on Zihuatanejo Street in the El Pípila neighborhood, within the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez District. After detecting an illegal dump site, crews removed 50 tons of heavy trash and construction debris, which is expected to benefit 1,500 local residents.

Meanwhile, work crews also visited the Ampliación Guaycura neighborhood in the Cerro Colorado District, where urban improvement efforts aim to raise the quality of life for 2,000 citizens. Tasks included median maintenance, pruning of 18 trees and 3 palm trees, and painting 520 linear meters of roadway markings.
Tuesday’s operation brought together La Presa Este Delegate Joaquín Sandoval Chávez, Cerro Colorado Delegate Rosa Margarita García Zamarripa, and María del Rocío González López, acting head of the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez District. They were joined by staff from Public Works and the City Auditor’s Office, as well as neighborhood residents.
