Tijuana Mayor Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado handed over 35 property titles to families across the city, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to dignified housing and property assets.
During the official ceremony, the mayor underscored the impact of these deeds as it represents legal certainty for families of property that they now own.
“We are witnesses to this great story, and you are its protagonists. Today, you have a home and the legal certainty that comes with a property title, which will bring peace of mind and recognizes you as rightful owners,” the mayor said.
City Auditor Teresita Balderas Beltrán also addressed the gathering, saying that these titles represent the victory of finally owning property after years of fighting.
“With effort, constancy, and dedication, you have turned a long-held dream into reality. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all 35 families and enjoy your new homes to the fullest,” she said.
Héctor Mancilla Peña, director general of PROMUN, highlighted the broader significance of the initiative, noting that a legal title is a cornerstone of community stability and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to expanding access to homeownership through continued support programs.
The properties are located in several of Tijuana’s residential developments, including El Pípila, Tijuana Progreso, Cañadas del Florido, La Joya, Héroes de la Independencia, and Tierra y Libertad.
As part of the event, six titles and the keys to a home were symbolically presented to Bárbara Angélica Pérez Herrera, a program beneficiary who expressed her deep gratitude for the assistance she and her family received.
Since October 2024, the municipal government through PROMUN has distributed a total of 377 property titles, benefiting families who have fully paid off their homes and now hold formal legal recognition of ownership.
The ceremony was also attended by Virginia Alejandra Vargas González, Secretary of Territorial and Urban Development (SDTU), along with other benefited residents.
