In a continued effort to enhance the quality of life for residents, Tijuana Mayor Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado oversaw the distribution of 900 water storage tanks to families in several neighborhoods throughout the city’s districts.
The initiative directly addresses one of the community’s most pressing concerns, particularly during the summer months when water shortages become a recurring challenge for many households.
“Water is a fundamental right and having a safe and reliable means to store brings peace of mind, safeguards family health, and contributes to a better overall quality of life,” the mayor said.

Oversight and Transparency
City Attorney Teresita Balderas Beltrán was present to verify the proper use of public funds allocated for the purchase of the tanks. She pledged that both this program and other social initiatives would continue to be closely monitored as a commitment to transparency.
“I considered it essential to attend this event, as it is my responsibility to ensure that public resources are being used appropriately. We want to make it clear that these funds come from the administration and are intended for the benefit of every citizen,” she said.

City Hall Encourages Community Engagement
Ramón Vázquez Valadez, the Secretary of Government, took the opportunity to encourage residents to visit their local district offices to learn more about the full range of programs and assistance available through the Municipal Government.
The ceremony was attended by District Coordinator María Guadalupe Rubio Cucue, along with delegates from various districts, municipal officials, and members of the community.
As a symbolic gesture, 8 water tanks were formally handed over during the event, representing the 900 families who received assistance through the program.
