As part of an effort to eradicate rabies and enhance municipal animal health, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s administration is providing free vaccinations for dogs and cats.
The Deputy Director of Animal Protection and Well-Being as Sentient Beings, Abigail Bautista Rodrigúez, reminded the population that this vaccination service is offered at no cost in Municipal Animal Control (CAM) facilities.
CAM is located at Bulevar Insurgentes S/N, in Río Tercera Etapa del Río Tijuana, from Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM to 1 PM.
Bautista Rodríguez added that this service will also be provided in the district route of the “Tijuana: Ciudad Perruna y Gatuna” program at the Otay Centenario Delegation, Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 10 AM to 1 PM.
To get the vaccine, cats and dogs must be older than 3 months and be healthy.
“This campaign is part of the World Rabies Day commemoration, which takes place on September 28. We encourage Tijuana native families to take advantage of this free service because taking care of our pets is a way to take care of our community,” Bautista Rodríguez said.
