U.S. authorities off the coast of California intercepted a vessel carrying 14 Mexican nationals attempting to enter the country unlawfully, according to an announcement by the Long Beach Marine Unit.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 3. Following the interception, all 14 individuals were taken into custody and will face legal processing.

In a statement following the operation, the Long Beach Marine Unit reiterated that people entering the United States illegally, will be detained and deported.
Officials noted that this event is part of a broader pattern involving illicit smuggling operations that offer unauthorized entry routes into the country. Migrants who utilize these services face severe legal consequences from U.S. authorities, in addition to significant physical dangers, such as hazardous high surf and unpredictable coastal weather conditions.
