The Tijuana City Hall has announced the inaugural “Kermés Juventud a la Mexicana” (Youth-Mexican Style Festival) set to take place on Friday, September 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mariano Matamoros Sports Complex gymnasium.
The festival is part of a broader initiative led by Mayor Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado to celebrate Independence Day by reinforcing Mexican cultural identity among youth while s fostering local economic development.
Gabriel García Delgado, director of the Municipal Institute for Youth (IMJUV), stated:
“The festival is designed to give young people a space to participate and express themselves, as well as reconnect with their heritage.”
A feature of the event will be the “Youth Tianguis,” a flea market where young entrepreneurs can showcase and sell their products and services, promoting local craftsmanship and small business growth. The Youth-Mexican Style Festival will also offer live music, lucha libre wrestling exhibitions, and classic activities reminiscent of traditional Mexican fairs.
García Delgado extended a personal invitation to Tijuana’s youth, encouraging them to attend, support local vendors, and explore the creative projects on display.
Admission to the Festival is free, and City Hall welcomes all residents to join in the celebration this Friday, September 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mariano Matamoros Sports Complex gymnasium.
