Hosted in the Baja California Hall on the top floor of El Trompo Museum, the immersive exhibition “Van Gogh Dreams” produced by Sensea Immersive officially opened its doors this weekend.
The exhibit, inspired by the life and works of Vincent Van Gogh, has drawn families, couples, and solo art enthusiasts alike to high-definition projections, light installations, virtual reality experiences, and interactive displays.
The Van Gogh Dreams experience begins with a recreation of Van Gogh’s famous bedroom, brought to life in its signature blue and yellow hues. Through a featured window display, animated projections showcase the landscapes that inspired the artist during his moments of reflection.
Visitors then pass through a deep-blue light tunnel designed to evoke the brushstrokes of “The Starry Night” (1889), offering a photo opportunity, before leading into a curated gallery of Van Gogh’s most famous portraits and self-portraits.
Further along, a sunflower-lined corridor pays homage to the vibrant still-lifes that remain cornerstone symbols of modern art history.
The Van Gogh Dreams exhibit’s centerpiece is a 360-degree, 20-minute projection room. Here, dozens of Van Gogh’s masterpieces surround viewers across all four walls to offer an intimate look at the painter’s life and artistic evolution.
The journey concludes with a comprehensive biographical timeline detailing Van Gogh’s legacy, an interactive crayon-coloring area for creative expression, and a gift shop.
