If you've ever been to SCORE's BAJA 1000 then you surely knew Mamá Espinoza's restaurant and its delicious food.
Mamá Espinoza's founder and oldest living soul in San Quintín, Anita Grosso Peña, died this past Saturday. She was 109 years young.
Grosso Peña founded Mamá Espinoza in 1964, she was well known by both the locals and tourists, for her delicious lobster and shrimp burritos sold at her restaurant.
Born in the town of Rosario, she was considered the eldest person in the region after the death of Guadalupe Canales, who used to be the eldest one, he died last year having the same age as Anita.
"We want to share with all of our friends a sad new, our beloved "Doña Anita" "Mamá Espinoza" passed away this morning. She will always be remembered as the kind, humble, most giving soul in all BAJA. We appreciate all your prayers and thoughts for Roly and her Family. Rest in peace our beautiful Angel.", wrote the family on the restaurant's Facebook page.
