TIJUANA.- The legendary Billie Joe Armstrong, vocalist of the popular band Green Day, visited Tijuana to give a show full of energy with his alternative band called The Longshot.

The band only scheduled a date for Latin America and chose this city as the start of their tour named "Love is for Losers" to promote their new album that is titled the same.

The event was held in what many consider the best venue in Tijuana for these kind of events, Mous Tache Bar, where celebrities such as Macaulay Culkin, Mild High Club, The Chamanas, etc. have performed.

Approximately two hours after the tickets went on sale online, they sold out. More than 300 people from various parts of the country would be able to see a spectacular show, as well as Sandiegans, since the city was not included in the band's itinerary.

The Trashbags of New York were the first to step on the stage, where they established a dynamic atmosphere to make room for the band Frankie + The Studs of Los Angeles, who played a more intense rock.

"After this show, Tijuana will be a difficult act to follow, I'm sorry Las Vegas, I'm sorry Phoenix and Portland," Billie told her audience referring to the later concerts.

He expressed to San Diego Red how much he liked the city since he had not visited it since 1993 when he performed a concert at the legendary Iguanas bar. "I really like the city and I really like this place (referring to the venue), I would love to come back."

The Longshot played both original songs and covers of The Clash, The Ramones and David Bowie.
