Golf courses transformed into visual art

Agustin Pizá, architect of the Walk of Fame of Tijuana, joins his talent with graphic artist Alex Viveros to recreate colorful golf courses he has designed all over the world.

Pizá is one of most famous golf architects and designers of the present day and, despite being formed in Europe, he is also proudly from Tijuana.

Alex Viveros has reproduced 20 Pizá Golf lithographies; his visual representation is the result of his studies and talent, in addition to being a designer he is also an architect.

As seen in the lithography reproduced, Viveros mixes techniques like airbrush, watercolor and mixed media.

The artists confirmed that there will be various exhibitions in 2019 starting with the one recently done in Punta Mita, Mexico. The purpose of both artists is to share the passion of their shared creativity, stated Pizá.

“Golf is a walk through nature”, he reflected, “it is meditative because it allows you to connect to the natural challenges of life”.

“In these pieces there is a lot of creativity, effort, perseverance and Mexican talent”, he emphasized.

Pizá is considered one of the 25 most sustainable golf architects in the world. He has a master’s degree on Golf Course Design by the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. And he is considered the first Latin-American with the highest level of excellence “Senior Member” in the European Institute of Golf Course Architects.

His brand, Pizá Golf, has been published in 45 editorials in 3 continents. For 20 years he has participated in more than 50 projects between Europe, Latin-America and the United States of America. Furthermore, he is a columnist in Forbes e-magazine.

Pizá has worked with great figures of golf like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Robert von Hagge. He is currently designing projects in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Cuba and partnering with Tim Brueske to offer golf and landscape design services in SoCal. www.brueskepiza.com

Viveros was born in Veracruz, Mexico; he studied architecture in the University of Veracruz and he specialized in Airbrush in the Gestalt school of Design in Xalapa. He currently resides in Baja California.

He has collaborated as a designer with almost every renowned advertising agency in the world, such as Foic Lecanda, Leo Burnett, Landor and Grey Mexico. As well as his specialization in character development and commercial mascots, with more than 30 designs in the international market.
