CDT presents work plan for 2019

The city needs entrepreneurs to transform the city

The Committee of Entrepreneurship of the Tijuana Development Council (CDT) held the forum "Tijuana, Always Open for Business" in which gathered members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on both sides of the border, as well as academics, investors and government representatives.

As part of the program of the event, the results of an opinion poll on the entrepreneurship ecosystem were presented, among which it was highlighted that entrepreneurs consider that greater access to financing is needed to strengthen the sector; the panel "Where should Tijuana go?" was organized in which entrepreneurs from both sides of the border participated and the "Work Plan 2019" of the Entrepreneurship Committee was presented.

Aram Hodoyán Navarro, president of the CDT, in his message stressed that to transform the city entrepreneurs are needed and it is to them that the institution in their charge wishes to give them greater support.

He recalled that some years ago it was the maquiladora industry that concentrated the largest number of jobs, but now with the growth of the services sector or the so-called orange economy, jobs are being generated by entrepreneurship.

The innovation and good ideas have to be recognized in the sector of entrepreneurship, he added

The Secretary of Economic Development Council of Tijuana, Bernabé Esquer, talked about the growing need of engineers in engineers, because they are the professionals that industries require.

When talking about the work of the Committee of Entrepreneurship of the CDT, Ariosto Manrique who presides, said that what is sought is to start work where all actors in the ecosystem are linked, have dialogue and grow, as it is the only way forward in matters of business and employment.

It is necessary, he added, that there is coordination between government, universities, companies and banks.

"The idea is to start a dialogue; Tijuana is a city that needs employment but needs entrepreneurs first. The state of entrepreneurial potential in the region is basic but with enormous potential.

A work plan will be made where each one of the elements that make up the ecosystem are linked and get everyone to enter the dynamics of promoting employment, "he said.

He mentioned that the entrepreneurship sector requires entrepreneurs who are willing to invest in entrepreneurs; besides having better rules and more updated laws.
