The brewery Lúdica Artesanal won the recognition of ‘‘Best Small Brewery of Mexico’’

They obtained high score and won said recognition

Once again, the breweries from Baja California overwhelmed the medal standings during the Cerveza México contest, the highest event dedicated exclusively to craft beer. Among the winners, Lúdica Artesanal won the “Best Small Brewery in Mexico” award.

This recognition, granted by the organizing committee, was a Gold medal in the Gose & Sour category for the Baja Sour of Catharina Sour style; Gold medal in the Tropical Stout category with “Corsair” and a silver medal in the Oatmeal Stout category.

Gustavo del Castillo, founder and brewer of Lúdica Artesanal, guided this brewery from Tijuana that has recently managed to excel within the competitive beer world of the region. The quality injected into each style has added adherents over the years, promoting experimental styles such as the Tomatillo Saison season style and many others that can be tasted at its Tap Room shared with Teorema brewery, on Avenida Revolución.

Other ‘‘tijuanenses’’ breweries that had an important participation and awards were Border Psycho with gold for its Cream Ale and bronze for Black Hoptimista; Insurgente got a gold for their Nocturna Black IPA; Mamut Brewery gold as well for their Mamut Oatmeal Stout, silver for their Mamut Strong Bitter and IPA Sun Rye, and a bronze for their Mamut American Lager; and Cervecería Lírica also got a gold for their Browned Eye Girl and silver for their Double Trouble.

It should be noted that Cervecería Wendlandt from Ensenada was recognized as the “Best Brewery of México”, recognition resulting from the score obtained during the contest. With this, Baja California have now 2 of the best awards in the world of craft beer in Mexico.

Moreover, Baja California was the leader of the medal standings in Cerveza México with a total of 51 medals, leaving the second place to CDMX, with 22 medals far behind. Of the total obtained, 17 were gold medals, 18 silver medals and 16 were bronze. After Mexico City, Jalisco followed with 16 medals, Nuevo León with a total of 10 medals, Sonora and the State of Mexico with 6, and Colima with three golds in the competition.
