These Baja California border ports of entry will install sanitary filters

Only necessary traveling is recommended for this weekend

A few weeks ago, they announced that the Mexicali-Calexico border would implement sanitary filters at the border crossing for Americans wishing to travel to Mexicali. This restriction is due to the fact that hundreds of Americans were scheduled to cross the border to celebrate the Fourth of July. To date, these filters are active and required in order to enter Baja California.

The Consulate of Mexico in San Diego informed all travelers who wish to enter Mexicali, Baja California, through Calexico, California that sanitary filters will be installed at several border ports of entry (Garita Oeste, Garita Este and Los Algodones), as well as in strategic points of the road to San Luis Rio Colorado and Colonias Nuevas starting this Friday July 17th at 2:00 p.m. until Sunday July 19th at 8:00 p.m. Therefore, it is recommended to travel only if necessary to avoid long waiting lines.

We must remember that the state of California is at a critical moment, as to date it has confirmed more than 11 thousand positive cases of coronavirus in just one day.

On the other hand, Baja California has 11 thousand 239 positive COVID-19 cases, of which Mexicali has 6 thousand 66, Tijuana 3 thousand 294, Ensenada 108, Tecate 259, San Quintin 229, San Felipe 153 and Rosarito 130.
