Baja California close to reaching 13 thousand coronavirus cases

More than half of the people who have tested positive for this virus are Mexicali residents

During the COVID-19 cases update, the Head of the Department of Health, Alonso Perez Rico mentioned that Baja California has 12 thousand 928 positive cases as of this Sunday, July 26.

Mexicali is the county that registers most of them, with 6 Thousand 749 (63 new cases), followed by Tijuana with 3 thousand 813 (29), then Ensenada with one thousand 389 (7), Tecate with 308 (4), San Quintin with 292, San Felipe with 211 (7) and Rosarito with 166 (1).

It is worth mentioning that Baja California still has 617 active cases, 258 of them located in Mexicali.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have passed away due to this virus in the region is 2 thousand 528, which majority were also residents of the state capital, where one thousand 193 deaths are registered.

Of this number of deaths, Tijuana reports one thousand and 64, Ensenada 173, Tecate 73, Rosarito 14, San Quintín 10 and San Felipe 1.

However, more Baja California natives keep recovering from COVID-19 than those who have died from this virus, 6 thousand 655 have recovered, with only 3 thousand 980 from Mexicali.
