The city has won the award for best Urban Escape Destination in Mexico for three years

The city of Tijuana in Baja California is making some noise again and this time it has been nominated in two categories of the World Travel Awards 2020, known as the Oscars of world tourism.

The city has been nominated in two categories: Best Destination in Mexico and Central America 2020, along with Best Vacation Destination in Mexico and Central America.

In previous years, Tijuana was nominated and has won the award, three years, for Best Urban Escape Destination in Mexico, so it's not surprising that it has been nominated again.

Tijuana is competing in the category of Best Destination in Mexico and Central America, against Acapulco, Cancun, Mazatlan, CDMX, Granada, Nicaragua, Panama and San Jose, Costa Rica.

The World Travel Awards are known worldwide for recognizing and celebrating excellence in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry; each year they bring together the best destinations in the world in their various categories.
