As part of the celebration for the Day of the Dead, this Monday, November 2, the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut) will remember those who have passed away in a virtual, but very special way.

Monumental Altar

Through its program "Contigo en la Distancia, Cultura desde Casa", which is broadcasted on its YouTube channel and Facebook page, the Cecut will inaugurate its monumental altar at 6:00 p.m., which will be dedicated to the writer and journalist Carlos Monsivais on his tenth mournful anniversary.

According to the Cecut, this offering which was designed by the Cecut's Museography team with the support of the Public Attention and General Services staff, will have the representation of what Monsivais liked the most: his books and his cats.

This altar is 10 meters high by 11 meters wide and six meters deep, and will be located in a part of the
lobby of the main building of the Cultural Center..

Although for the moment it will only be appreciated virtually during the first days of November, Cecut commented that once the situation improves those interested will be able to visit it, but without leaving aside some preventive measures due to the current coronavirus.

Film Series

To continue remembering the importance and meaning of the traditional Day of the Dead, the Cecut brings a film series from November 4th, with four productions that will show us another side of this cultural celebration.

And you, how will you celebrate the Day of the Dead? Do you plan to miss this programming?
