Missing California firefighter found dead in Rosarito

His body was found south of Boulevard 2000 after being missing since August

Through a press release, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Baja California, reported that on October 23rd they found the human remains of Francisco Michael Aguilar Cornejo, the firefighter from Los Angeles, California, who had been missing since August 20th of this year.

According to the FGE, the body was cremated and found on an unpopulated area south of Boulevard 2000, in the municipality of Playas de Rosarito.

Subsequently, the human remains were removed and the scene was processed in open field. Forensic tests of genetic comparison with the blood samples provided by the relatives were carried out, which gave positive results to the correlation, the relatives of the victim were immediately informed.

The main perpetrators are a couple, Santos N and Fanny N, who are currently in prison and subject to prosecution for the crime of forced disappearance, but could now be reclassified as aggravated homicide.

A 1993 Jeep, owned by the firefighter, was also recovered at the scene, which had been stolen by the couple and sold by a third party to a citizen who did not know where the vehicle came from, according to the FGE.
