Baja California: "The state breaks the barrier of a thousand active cases"

This Wednesday the indicators were sent to the federal government, but there is nothing to believe that the state will go to orange light

The Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Pérez Rico, reported this Wednesday morning that despite sending the indicators this day to know in what color the epidemiological traffic light by COVID-19 the entity will continue, he said that, "there are no indicators that we will move to orange".

This after registering a total of 1,005 active cases until Wednesday morning, showing an increase in each of the region's municipalities. "We continue to lose the battle on all fronts in our municipalities," said Pérez Rico.

Of these active cases, Mexicali accumulates 485, Tijuana 270, Ensenada 159, Tecate 33, Rosarito 24, San Quintín 19 and San Felipe 15. In addition, 317 new cases of coronavirus were recently reported in the state, with only 106 registered in Tijuana, 90 in Mexicali and 69 in Ensenada.

These three municipalities are also the ones that registered most of the 39 new deaths: 27 in Tijuana, 9 in Mexicali and two in Ensenada. These last figures had the effect of increasing the number of confirmed cases, as shown below, which add up to 29 thousand 335 in Baja California.

  • Mexicali: 12 thousand 793
  • Tijuana: 9,460
  • Ensenada: 4 thousand 147
  • San Quintín: one thousand and 38
  • Tecate: 960
  • Rosarito: 555
  • San Felipe: 332

Also the number of people who died as a result of COVID-19 have unfortunately been 4 thousand and 719.
