Price increase in Baja California for licenses, plates, circulation cards and water

Despite campaign promises, the current administration increases cost of these services

This 2021 comes with increases in costs of official documents for Mexicans. A few days ago the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) reported that the price of passports would rise throughout Mexico. However, there will also be increases in other services at the state and municipal level.

These increases have to do with the cost of licenses, plates and circulation cards in Baja California, and the cost of water service in Tijuana. This was approved by the Baja California Chamber of Deputies.

As for automotive licenses from 3 to 5 years, they have been eliminated and the cost has risen to almost $300 pesos more (from $704.01 to 983.63). Driver's licenses have also increased:
-Type C driver: previous cost $789 pesos, now $1,102 pesos
-Driver type A,B and D: before they cost $1,133 pesos, now they cost $1,583 pesos

You will also have to be careful not to lose your license since a replacement will cost you $517 pesos and you will have to cancel the other one, which will cost you $298 pesos. Similarly, the circulation card and sticker will cost $896 in local currency.

The plates for cars and trucks will have an increase of $416 pesos, in total you will be charged $1,464 pesos. Those for motorcycles will be $293 pesos, and the plates for people with disabilities will be increased by more than $420 pesos, to $1,464 pesos.

On the other hand, water rates in Tijuana will increase to domestic users who will pay a minimum fee of $94.84 pesos and also to industry and commerce to which they increased to a minimum fee of $343.52 pesos.
