Medical pass lane at San Ysidro border port changes location

The booth, which had been closed since December 28, has been reactivated in this new location

The Tijuana Municipal Government announced on Wednesday, December 23, that the medical pass lane would change its location, which is why since December 28 the lane has been closed. However, as planned, it reopened at its new location.

The new location for this fast crossing for medical and business tourism purposes has changed and its new access will be on Paseo de los Héroes Avenue in Zona Río, that is, where the general line was previously located. The Ministry of Economic Development of Tijuana (Sedeti) granted a total of 120 thousand passes in the year 2020.

These passes were 95% for health issues and only 5% were directed to people who have a business purpose in the United States. Each pass has a different cost: the medical pass costs $247 pesos, while the business pass costs $519 pesos.

It is expected that with this new location, traffic and long lines will no longer be a problem for people who have to be on time for a consultation or a business meeting. According to the Semanario Zeta, the work cost around 1 million 89 thousand 322 pesos.
