Mexico: First in the world in deaths of physicians from COVID-19, declares Anaya

Approximately 2 thousand 600 doctors have died so far in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, the former candidate for the presidency of the United Mexican States during the 2018 elections, Ricardo Anaya Cortes, a politician belonging to the National Action Party (PAN), expressed his regret through a video posted on social media that Mexico ranks first in the world in deaths of medical personnel caused by COVID-19.

Around 2 thousand 600 people working professionally in the health sector have lost their lives due to the pandemic, as is the case of Gaby Ornelas, a doctor working at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), who died from the coronavirus after contracting it during her working hours because she did not have the necessary equipment for her protection.

The Mexican Republic currently exceeds 168 thousand deaths, adding one thousand 328 in the last 24 hours, while the number of infections is already close to 2 million.

In the video shared on Twitter, the politician describes the Mexican government as a liar and incompetent, since "it is regrettable that those who risk their lives to take care of the sick do not receive the protection they deserve".

In the world "top" of deaths caused by coronavirus, Mexico retains the third place, only behind Brazil and the United States, in addition it has also been recently confirmed that the country has the highest mortality rate by COVID-19, for every 100 people who contract the disease 8.6 of them lose the battle against the SARS Cov-2 virus.
