Baja California is currently in orange color due to the fact that the number of coronavirus cases has been reduced. For this reason, the government of Ensenada has decided that the 13 common markets, located in different points of the municipality, will operate at 50% capacity.

"We are very pleased that the capacity of the common markets will be increased. This will reactivate the economy of the more than 2 thousand 200 families that have permits to work in these spaces. We trust that they will not lower their guard and will continue to respect the protocols," said the municipal president in a statement published on the City Hall website.

So far, according to the head of Commerce, Alcohol and Public Shows of the XXIII, Jose Angel Leon, no irregularities have been reported in the swap meet operations and everyone has respected the filters and the basic rule of wearing masks at all times.

The official highlighted the effort being made by the people operating in the tianguis to adapt to this "new normality" and asked the population to adapt to it in order to allow thousands of families, dedicated to these commercial activities, to reactivate their economy.
