Ensenada beaches closed due to sewage spill

The beach will remain closed until the results of the corresponding analysis are within the parameters indicated by the Official Standards.

Ensenada authorities informed this afternoon, the precautionary closure of its beaches due to an electrical failure that affected the pumping plant located in Loma Dorada, which caused the spill of sewage into the sea, affecting the quality of it.

Therefore, the Clean Beaches Committee of the Municipality of Ensenada announces that due to the evident discharge that lasted a few hours, the Conalep and Pacifica beaches will remain closed to the general public for any activity, since entering the sea can cause health problems.

Also, it is reported that next Tuesday, March 2, COEPRIS will perform the sampling of enterococci to corroborate the microbiological quality of seawater. This analysis corresponds to the scheduled pre-holiday program for Easter Week.

Ensenada's Clean Beaches Committee informed that the beach will remain closed until the results of the corresponding analysis are within the parameters indicated by the Official Standards (beach suitable for recreation with official norm values).
