35 thousand doses of Chinese CanSino vaccine arrive in Mexico

Mexico has received a total of 29 million doses from different pharmaceutical companies

This Saturday morning, May 15, a new shipment arrived in Mexican territory with 35 thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine CanSino and 290 thousand more in the form of active substance to be packaged in our country by the Drugmex laboratory, based in Querétaro.

The Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Martha Delgado Peralta, and the coordinator of the National Distribution System of Medical Supplies of Biological and Reagents Laboratories of Mexico (Birmex), Israel Acosta Ibarra, attended the reception of the shipment.

The plane with the vaccines against the coronavirus departed from Beijing, China, then made a layover in Anchorage, Alaska and finally arrived at Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

Mexico has received 24 million 744 thousand 945 doses of packaged vaccines from the pharmaceutical companies: Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Centro Nacional de Investigación de Epidemiología y Microbiología Gamaleya, as well as CanSino Biologics. Counting the more than 4 million 418 thousand 330 doses of CanSino packaged by the Drugmex laboratory, a total of 29 million 163 thousand 275 doses have been received in Mexico.

As of this May 15, 49 shipments have been received in 63 flights.
