Baja California becomes the first state to vaccinate the entire population over the age of 18

The Government of Mexico released the official numbers of people vaccinated in Baja California with the Johnson & Johnson campaign this morning.

A total of 1 million 247 thousand 998 doses were applied, achieving in only 8 days 92.44% of the antidotes assigned for the state. This makes Baja California the first state in the country to immunize its entire population over 18 years of age against COVID-19.

In Ensenada 137 thousand 709 doses were applied, in Tecate 50 thousand 385, Rosarito 4 thousand 882, Mexicali 278 thousand and 3, Tijuana 644 thousand 460 and San Quintín 52 thousand 559.

The government indicated that the state will keep 10 thousand doses to address its backlog, while SEDENA, IMSS and the National Guard will transfer an estimated 85 thousand vaccines to San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, between today, Friday and Saturday.
