Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, there has been an increase in visiting areas that previously did not receive a significant economic flow. According to Forbes Mexico, 56.3% of tourists now prefer to visit small cities and the famous Mexican magical towns.

This is why areas such as Tecate in Baja California have become the most sought after destinations for national tourism, according to data shared by Airbnb, who stated for the media mentioned above that searches to Tecate have tripled.

This is excellent news, since the magical towns help the local economy to flow, as visitors consume in restaurants, bars, lounges and other businesses. At the moment, the favorite places are those where you can practice outdoor activities.

This is not the only surprise, in terms of tourism, that the pandemic and its restrictions have brought: according to Booking, Mexicans will continue to prefer national destinations. Even in a survey created by this website, it turned out that only 7% would prefer an international destination.

Like Airbnb, Booking agrees that magical towns and beaches are the destinations chosen by Mexicans in these new trends derived from the confinement caused by the coronavirus. It also estimates that this trend will continue.
