Every day, the Government of Baja California makes a daily report with topics of interest for the citizenship, as well as a series of updates regarding COVID-19, in this case, the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico announced that in the last 9 days the increase of cases in the State has been on the rise.

According to Pérez Rico, this increase is due to the fact that the health measures stipulated by the Government, the Secretariat of Health and other world organizations have been ignored little by little, adding that large group gatherings have become more frequent.

It is worth noting that the municipality of Tijuana is about to enter the Top 20 municipalities with the highest incidence of active cases in all of Mexico, if this happens, there would be two municipalities belonging to Baja California within this ranking, since Mexicali is currently in 14th place.

Likewise, the effective reproduction rate has risen to 0.99 at state level, which generates concern since the goal is for this index is to be less than 1.0, currently five municipalities have reached 1.0 or higher than 1.0; when a few weeks ago only one or two of these were within the range, the rest were below 0.90
