Tijuana is celebrating! Oktober Fest and other events for this weekend

Symphony on piano, Japanese festival, canvas painting and more this Saturday and Sunday

Another weekend is coming up and as always at San Diego Red we have recommendations for events in Tijuana for you to have a great time, and this week is packed with cultural events on Saturday and Sunday, check them out.

Oktober Fest

The traditional German party where the only thing that matters is drinking beer, eating pretzels and sausages and having a good time is coming to Tijuana, this Saturday, October 23rd starting at noon, at Plaza Monumental de Playas, the Tijuana version of Oktober Fest 2021 will take place, where the local touch is that craft beer will abound, in addition to being accompanied by local cuisine and music by Nortec: Bostich + Fussible, Linea Negra, and Rouk, tickets for the event cost $350 pesos and there is only general admission which you can purchase here.

Paint and Wine

Canvas painting sessions accompanied by wine are becoming more and more popular in the city, and this Saturday October 23, Abzoluto Artestudio, located in Playas de Tijuana; will hold a Paint and Wine session, where anyone from 12 years old and up can attend to paint on canvas in a relaxed family atmosphere, the fee is $600 pesos and includes the 40x50 cm. canvas, paint, apron, brushes and a glass of wine, beer, soda or coffee. Ha Ash in concert

Tijuana is one of the duet of sisters Ha Ash favorite destinations, interpreters of hits such as ''Perdón, Perdón'', ''Lo aprendí de ti'' and ''¿Qué hago yo?'', among others, and they return to the city with their tour ''Cien años contigo'', to give concert this Saturday, October 23 at the audiorama of El Trompo, the concert starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets range from $660 pesos in general area, to $2090 pesos in VIP area, you can get tickets here.

Bunkasai Japanese Cultural Festival

Tijuana is made up of multiple cultures and one that has always stood out is the Japanese, this Sunday, October 24 the Japanese Association of Tijuana will hold the Bunkasai cultural festival, where they will have typical local food made by local restaurants, traditional martial arts demonstrations, artistic presentations, Japanese calligraphy workshops and more, the event is at 8537 Ignacio Zaragoza Street from noon to 6:00 p.m. and the use of masks is required, admission is free.

Nosferatu, Symphony of Terror

CEART continues to promote culture in Tijuana, and this Sunday, October 24, will delight the community with a concert of the piano musical adaptation of the film Nosferatu by F. W. Murnau (1922); composed and performed by Iván Velázquez de León, an experienced composer and pianist from Tijuana. The concert will take place at the Experimental Forum of CEART Tijuana, at 6:00 p.m., admission is $100 pesos and can be reserved at: reservacionesceartj@gmail.com.
