Marina del Pilar announces 8 more members for her cabinet as Governor-elect of Baja California

The professionals were chosen according to their professional profile and experience in their respective areas

Marina del Pilar, Governor-elect of Baja California, revealed the names of 8 more professionals that will be added to her cabinet this November 1st, who were chosen for their exemplary skills developed according to their corresponding professional areas.

Through her social media, Maestra Marina del Pilar revealed who will be the heads of the Secretary of Education, the Secretary of Health, the Secretary of Water Management, Sanitation and Protection, the Secretary of Environment, the Secretary of Labor, the State DIF Board, the Directorate of the State DIF and the Directorate of the Women's Justice Center.

For the Secretary of Education, the Governor-elect chose Gerardo Arturo Solis Benavides, who has served as the head of the State Secretary of Education, having previously held the position of head of the Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education, Higher Education and Research.

Among the positions of experience of Solis Benavides is the Coordination of Academic Programs of the State Education System, and the head of the Department of Academic Activities of the Colegio de Bachilleres de Baja California (COBACH), so it is a professional with great experience in the educational field.

Meanwhile, for the Secretary of Health, the selected candidate is José Adrián Medina Amarillas, an outstanding physician from Mexicali who holds a Medical Degree from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) with undergraduate studies at the General Hospital of the State capital and with several specialties, such as Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, as well as an outstanding teaching activity.

Medina Amarillas is one of the most distinguished members of Baja California's private medicine, having served as head of the Interventional Clinical Cardiology Area at Almater Hospital in Mexicali for more than three decades, having also participated in ISSSTECALI and the General Hospital of Mexicali (HGM).

Francisco Alberto Bernal Rodríguez was appointed as head of the Secretariat for Water Management, Sanitation and Protection, who until now has served as head of the International Boundary and Water Commission (CILA) in Mexicali, so he has an in-depth knowledge of the state's water needs from a national and international perspective, and is also an expert in matters related to the Colorado River and water sanitation.

Bernal Rodríguez's career includes technical supervision of the demarcation of the international boundary line at border crossings and ports in San Luis Río Colorado, as well as the rectification of the International Section of the Colorado River, and extensive work as a researcher at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte (COLEF).

For the Secretary of the Environment, an agency that constituted one of the main commitments of the Governor-elect, the former Tijuana councilwoman, Monica Vega Aguirre, was considered, who during her five years as councilwoman of the Tijuana City Council stood out for her initiatives in favor of animals, which earned her recognition as an animalistic councilwoman by lawyers dedicated to activism in this area, due to, among other things, the creation of the Regulations for the Protection of Domestic Animals for the municipality of Tijuana.

On the other hand, the Secretariat of Labor will correspond to Alejandro Arregui Ibarra, former local congressman and lawyer, who is well acquainted with the needs of the workers, having been the delegate in Baja California of Infonavit, highlighting during his administration the actions of urban regeneration of social interest complexes in the cities of Baja California.

As for the Presidency of the Patronato DIF Baja California, Dr. Manuela Olmeda, who will collaborate directly with Mónica Vargas Núñez as General Director of the System for the Integral Development of the Family, was selected due to her experience in the efficient management of resources and a strong social sense, She has been a delegate of the Office of the Chief of Staff of the State, as well as the Chief of Staff of the Ensenada City Hall and Director of the Municipal Office of this municipality, being a woman committed to the fight against corruption focused on allocating the budget to those who have the least.

María Magdalena Bautista Ramírez, who has worked arduously in the attention of vulnerable groups during the last few years, having been director of DIF Tijuana in the XXIII City Hall, creating the First Shelter Center for Unaccompanied Children and Adolescents in the Context of Mobility, in coordination with UNICEF, was chosen as General Director of the Women's Justice Center.

In addition, Bautista Ramírez updated the model for the protection of women and children in situations of domestic or gender violence, facilitating their empowerment and their proper integration into society, a work that earned her an important management of federal resources in this area.

With these appointments, the Governor-elect of Baja California continued appointing people who not only stand out in each of their areas of expertise, but who have shown a true commitment to the social values of the Fourth Transformation, which prioritize the benefit of vulnerable groups and aim at an authentic regeneration of the public life of the state of Baja California.
