The third wave of coronavirus is still active in Baja California; thus, the epidemiological covid tier will remain orange for at least another week. As a result of the above, surveillance will be increased to ensure that health protocols are followed, particularly during large-scale events.

As a result, officials have advised that people continue to wear face masks, maintain a 1.5-meter social distance, and wash their hands often. According to a recent update provided early Sunday morning, five hundred twenty-five new contagions were detected in the previous 24 hours.

219 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Tijuana, with 198 in Mexicali, 53 in Ensenada, 16 in Tecate, 16 in Rosarito, 19 in San Quintin, and four in San Felipe. The state capital has 1,339 current cases, Tijuana has 827, Ensenada has 393, Tecate has 132, Rosarito has 94, San Quintin has 104, and San Felipe has 15.

"On Monday, a report will be presented on the agency's activities in terms of capacity and needs for this sort of work under the orange epidemiological covid tier that prevails in the state," according to the official website of the Baja California Ministry of Health.
