Tijuana’s toll border crossing “Otay II” will have 10 interchangeable lanes

SRE revealed information regarding the new border crossing that will open between Tijuana and San Diego, which will be multimodal and have 10 interchangeable lanes

Through social media, the Secretariat of Foreign Relations (SRE) revealed information about the new toll border crossing between Tijuana and San Diego, also known as Otay II, which will be inaugurated very soon in the city.

According to information shared by SRE, this new crossing will be multimodal, which will improve security and will ease the flow of goods, services, and people in a faster and more efficient manner.

One of the most distinguishing features of this infrastructure is that it will have 10 interchangeable lanes depending on traffic, which will be divided as follows: 5 for light vehicles and 5 for cargo transport.

With a design in charge of the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM), the Otay II border crossing will be officially inaugurated in March. Being a binational project, the earnings received by this project will be safeguarded by the North American Development Bank.

Though promoted by the SRE, it should be noted that this toll border crossing is a coordinated work between Mexican and US agencies.
