Baja Californian government opens runway in San Felipe Airport

The government of Baja California, led by Governor Marina del Pilar, opened a runway in San Felipe Airport

Starting this Monday, San Felipe’s International Airport will begin operations, stated the Baja California government led by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. Furthermore, it was revealed that the initial objective is to provide extraordinary services to the participating teams that will be arriving by air to the Baja San Felipe 250 race.

The Governor specified that the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Design, and Territorial Redesign (SIDURT), in coordination with the Federal Civil Aviation Agency, will be the ones in charge of carrying out the process this March 7th.

SIDURT will free the works done on the airport in order to provide extraordinary services to the participating teams that will be arriving by air to the Baja San Felipe 250 race.

Head of SIDURT, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, explained that the airport will continue providing aerial services afterwards through general flights, while implementing safety precautions necessary to guarantee its operational security.

For this to occur, the state agency will continue working on minor maintenance of the International Airport located in the new municipality of San Felipe.
