Several Change.org petitions are launched asking FIFA to remove Mexico from World Cup

One of the petitions has reached 5,800 signatures

After a proposal in social media went viral where hundreds of people asked FIFA to remove Mexico from the FIFA World Cup 2026 after last weekend’s Querétaro tragedy in La Corregidora stadium, there are now open petitions in Change.org where they are now specifically asking Mexico to be removed from the World Cup.

One of the petitions has reached 5,800 signatures which asks the BBVA MX League to be suspended immediately as well as to punish those responsible for the tragedy. If you want to sign this petition, click here.

In another petition, it is asked that the International Federation of Football (FIFA) vetoes the World Cup venue from the Mexican Federation of Football (FMF), considerately and effectively. This is because there are currently no ideal security conditions in the country and in the organizations that are part of the FMF. This petition currently has 1,470 signatures.

“Mexico should be expelled from the World Cup“ says another petition in Change.org, which has received 522 signatures, although it is hoping to reach 1,000 signatures.
