Baja Californian government promotes communication lines to resolve problems in schools and communities

The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California considers essential that these tools are available to all students and teachers

TIJUANA.- The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California (SSCBC), as part of strategies to improve reporting culture, explained in detail the communication tools that Baja Californian students and teachers of all educational levels can use to ask for assistance with problems or reports that occur inside school facilities and neighboring communities.

With a focus on citizen linking and proximity, the management personnel of Citizen Prevention and Participation, as well the State Force of Security, have repeated to students and teachers that the phone numbers 911 and 089 are available as tools to report something or call in case of emergency.

Recommendations made by SSCBC staff are geared towards promoting the responsible use of these emergency phone numbers and anonymous calls. They also want to promote the responsible use of phone calling when assuming an act that could harm students physically in school facilities could take place.

At the same time, they explained when it is appropriate to come in person in case of wanting to make a report when a crime has been committed. SSCBC personnel are not only trained to act in preventive methods, but also to handle any situation that indicates any sort of harassment, abuse, psychological harm, and even physical injuries in students.

Under the state citizen security system, these problems can be faced head on by joining efforts and emphasizing intelligence and coordination in operational and preventive areas.
