Governor Marina del Pilar announces new investments for Tijuana

This 107-million-dollar investment will bring jobs to Tijuana

Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has boosted its commitment to support investments made by companies that wish to grow or establish themselves in the state.

During a meeting with Vesta representatives in Economic and Industrial Development of Tijuana (DEITAC) facilities, the governor was informed of the construction of a new industrial park in the municipality that will, in turn, translate to jobs and wellness for people.

The head of Vesta, Lorenzo Dominique Berho said that this construction consists of six buildings with an approximate extension of 1 million square feet that will be built in southern Tijuana, with an investment of 107 million dollars.

Due to this, Marina del Pilar highlighted the importance of companies creating in Baja California and her administration’s efficiency in creating not only jobs, but wealth and economic development, that will all mean a better quality of life for families.

She stated:

Current geopolitics put us as reference when it comes to investments and that is exactly what we are doing: innovating, an always risky activity, but it is riskier to not do it.

For her part, Adriana Eguía, the company’s vice president, recognized the willingness of the Baja Californian government to encourage new investments and collaborating directly with the private sector, which means the interest in investing in the state strengthens.

It should be noted that Vesta has been present in Baja California since 17 years ago, where it has managed to grow due to the potential and dynamism that this land offers. It has become the company with the largest presence in industrial ship matters in the entire state.

Berho added that Mexico and especially Baja California have become ideal spaces to enter the US market, especially the one in the state of California, one of the most important economies in the world.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Economy and Innovation of Baja California, Kurt Ignacio Honold Morales said that Vesta is a company with social responsibility which has meant an exponential improvement in work conditions for all workers.

Marina del Pilar sets up Assistance Committee for Girls, Women, and Teenagers

On the other hand, Governor Marina del Pilar set up, next to the head of the National Committee to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (CONAVIM), María Fabiola Alanís Sámano the Interinstitutional Committee to Guarantee Access to Justice and Comprehensive Assistance for Women, Teenagers, and Girls of the State of Baja California.

This work team, the Governor highlighted, will work in cooperation to ensure a life free of violence for Baja Californian women, adding the efforts of the three levels of government. It also has the aid of the State’s Attorney General through the Specialized Agency in Gender Crimes Against Women and the Judicial Branch of the State of Baja California.

This Committee will be put into place periodically to deal with the Violence Gender Alert in the state of Baja California and is looking to not only give safety to women, but a complete access to justice and deliver comprehensive assistance to those who have been victims of violence in the state.
