Marina del Pilar inaugurates projection room at Mexicali’s Historical Center

In order to raise funds for the community orchestras of the state, Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda inaugurated at Mexicali’s Historical Center a projection room located at Mercado Cine Curto.

There, a concert took placed called “Se me Antoja Tu Vida” (“I Crave Your Life”), where important artists such as Susana Zabaleta, Raúl DiBlasio, and Francisco Céspedes were present.

The governor mentioned that all of this is part of a strategy to support cultural events in the region and recalled the great restoration work carried out at Mexicali’s Historical Center so that people can have worthy recreation spaces.

”Let’s not forget that over 15 tons of trash were removed from the historical center after cleaning efforts in the area", Marina del Pilar stated.

She also recalled that this area was recently awarded the National Tourism Award in the Cultural category, putting Mexicali and Baja California in the spotlight.

For her part, Secretary of Culture. Alma Delia stated that this was a great way to raise funds for the region’s orchestras.

“In Baja California, we are convinced that the great capital of our state is the talent of its people and its children,” the official said.
