Currently, health staff is trained to give vaccines to children

Starting Monday, June 27, vaccination centers will begin operating to give children ages 5 to 11 the Covid-19 vaccine, since this is the best tool to fight against the pandemic. Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda invites parents to bring their children. It is expected that 340,000 minors living in the state will be vaccinated.

Marina del Pilar highlighted the commitment of the Secretariat of Health led by José Adrián Medina Amarillas to train personnel so that they can immunize children in the most effective way possible while respecting their integrity and rights. Likewise, they have been trained to deal with special characteristics when administering vaccines to children.

The state governor encouraged people to register at mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/index.php so as to make the process easier for the benefit of Baja Californian children. She reiterated her gratitude to Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for making easy the arrival of an important number of vaccines to our state. This is all part of the National Vaccination Strategy that prioritizes the health of all Baja Californians.

The Governor called on to mothers and fathers to be aware of the information given by health authorities to safeguard the health of our children from Covid-19.

Ávila Olmeda stated that her priority is to vaccinate equally all rural and urban areas, with the strategy being carried out by the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Adrián Medina Amarillas. Thanks to this, the positive pandemic landscape in the state will be kept and will speed up its exit from Baja California. She said that the initial batch is of 54,000 Pfizer vaccines with specific composition for children.
