Marina del Pilar highlights importance of taking care of water among Baja Californian children

As part of the “Water Guardians” program, more than 500,000 children and teenagers have united in order to stress the importance of taking care of water

Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda reiterated the importance of taking care of water in the community, especially among children and teenagers of the state. This is why she continues to implement a policy of awareness of this vital liquid among all people in the Baja Californian community.

Marina del Pilar put as an example the program “Guardianes del Agua” (Water Guardians) led by the Secretariat of the Protection, Management, and Treatment of Water (SEPROA) through the State Utilities Commission of Tijuana (CESPT) that creates specific intervention activities with children and teenagers of the cities of Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito.

The state governor said that summer camps are currently underway, as well as activities and talks in schools regarding the State Education System (SEE), as well as unit installations with different assistance campaigns led by the Government of Baja California.

It should be noted that Governor Marina del Pilar met with the children and teenagers participating in Summer Camp 2022 at the State Center of the Arts (CEART), talking with them about the importance that taking care of water is since it is a non-renewable natural resource that is essential to improve everyone’s lives, which is why it is important to take care of it in many different ways.

Meanwhile, SEPROA head, Armando Samaniego said that in 2022 more than 2,500 children and teenagers have participated in 25 activities carried out in different areas. This is being done so that a water culture is a part of all present and future Baja Californian generations.

Finally, Marina del Pilar encouraged mothers and fathers of Baja California to educate their children about taking care of water, since it is an essential element for the wellbeing of everyone, and it requires greater attention from all members of society.
