AMLO makes it clear: he supports Governor Marina del Pilar after attacks by Jaime Bonilla

“There is no doubt that the President of Mexico supports her,” AMLO stated

The President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador went to Tijuana to address vital and important issues, one of which is security. Due to what happened last Friday, when the wave of violence exploded in the city and several vehicles were set on fire causing panic and fear in people, the general public is looking for protection.

Let us remember that, linked to these terrible incidents, we have former governor of Baja California, Jaime Bonilla Valdez, who wanted to stay as governor longer than the term he was elected to. He attacked Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda and accused her of being allied with Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación.

Due to this, Marina del Pilar has received support from several MORENA party members and officials, and even governors, who have all signed a support letter. Among people who signed the letter, there are the Head of Government of Mexico City Claudia Sheinbaum and MORENA president, Mario Delgado.

But perhaps the most important thing is that the president himself has expressed his support for Marina del Pilar, something he stated during the morning press conference that took place in Baja California.

I think she is a good, upstanding woman with principles, who has faced many challenges and has acted with composure and honesty. There is no doubt that the President of Mexico supports her.

In addition, AMLO said that despite his affection for Bonilla, things shouldn’t be confused. This is “not about favoritism, and much less about corruption, none of these scourges of traditional politics. We have to be loyal to the people,” he concluded.
