People rescue injured kitten trapped inside Citibanamex in Tijuana

The kitten is seriously hurt

On Saturday, a Facebook post went viral where a Tijuana resident was asking for help for a kitten that she had found at Citibanamex in Downtown Tijuana. It should be noted that the kitten was injured and in poor conditions.

Sadly, there was no clear way of getting inside and for several hours, help was being asked from several different sources. Even authorities were asked for help but they said there was nothing that could be done since it was inside private property and that they couldn’t risk anything “just for a cat.”

“I received no support. They didn’t give me any options or aid. They just said, 'I’m not going to break it, if you want to break it, do it yourself.' My heart cannot take this much evil,” the person who was trying to rescue the kitten said.

Finally, thanks to people mobilizing on Facebook, the kitten was rescued and taken to a veterinarian immediately. Sadly, the injuries on its feet are very severe and both legs and half of another will have to be amputated, which means it will have to use a wheelchair for the rest of its life.

On the other hand, it seems the kitten has found a home, the rescuer shared. She also added that it is a young female kitten and one can see that it is Mexican because she is “chingón” (badass) and didn’t give up. She thanked everyone for helping and keeping track of the kitten.
